SBM Offshore 2025 Annual Report: FPSO Delivery Milestones, Standardization Leadership & Balanced Energy Transition Roadmap
Global floating production leader SBM Offshore has released its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting landmark delivery results, strategic market expansion, and a balanced roadmap between core oil & gas business and long-term energy transition.
In 2025, SBM brought 3 large-scale FPSOs into operation: Almirante Tamandaré (February), Alexandre de Gusmão (May, 2 months ahead of schedule), and ONE GUYANA (August). The company now operates a global fleet of 16 FPSOs, with 3 major projects under construction, solidifying its leading position in the floating production sector.
SBM has identified the Atlantic Basin as its core growth market, covering established hotspots Brazil and Guyana, as well as high-potential emerging regions. Notably, the company has listed Namibia as a key focus with a local team already established, alongside opportunities in Suriname, West Africa, and Southeast Asia – markets shifting from resource potential to project execution, opening new entry points for industry players.
A core competitive edge highlighted in the report is SBM's industry-leading Fast4Ward standardized FPSO program. With 8 Multi-Purpose Floaters (MPFs) delivered (6 in operation, 2 integrated into ongoing projects), the program's four-pillar standardization (hull, topsides modules, supply chain, project execution) has transformed project-based delivery into scalable, repeatable platform capabilities, effectively mitigating cost, schedule and financing risks.
Beyond its traditional oil & gas value chain, SBM is expanding into power, carbon and ammonia value chains, including floating offshore wind, carbon capture and Blue Ammonia FPSO (which has received ABS AiP). While these energy transition assets are long-term strategic options, the report confirms that FPSO operations will remain the company's core revenue driver in the coming years.
